Blue Mountains Helicopter Flights Blue Mountains Helicopter Flights

The Blue Mountains are known for their contrasts between plateau, cliff and valley landscapes and the famous blue haze which is a vapour produced by numerous eucalypt trees. The best way to appreciate the evolution of the 18 million year old mountain range is from the air.

Your tour begins by taking some iconic sites of Sydney, flying over the Opera House, Harbour Bridge and the impressive Sydney city skyline before following the Parramatta River up to the Olympic Park and continuing west over the Warragamba Dam, the Megalong Valley and Jamieson Valley... the journey into the mountains is just as spectacular as the Blue Mountains National Park itself. Only from the air can the awesome expanse of this truly magnificent part of Australia be put into perspective. The passing scenes below of tumbling waterfalls, unforgiving sandstone cliff faces and never ending stretches of forest are bound to exceed even the highest expectations.

Venture off the beaten track and really experience the Blue Mountains. After flying over Sydney Harbour then heading west into the Blue Mountains National Park, your pilot will land at Katoomba Airfield in the heart of the bush. Leaving the bus crowds behind, your driver guide will lead you along back country tracks to Anvil Rock & Twin Falls, a spectacular viewpoint over the Grose Valley - Australia's "Grand Canyon". Short walks in the wilderness accentuate your interpretive ecological experience on an advanced ecotourism accredited tour.

You will see fantastic panorama escarpments, unique rock formations, deep canyons with ancient rainforest and occasionally kangaroo's in the Megalong Valley.

The tour then continues to your luncheon venue with a difference. Depending on the weather, a light lunch will be served in either a cave or rainforest. This has to be the best gourmet sandwich in the Blue Mountains and all experienced on the highest peaks or deepest canyons-it includes marinated chicken breast, sun dried tomato, marinated artichoke, cheeses, avocado, home made potato salad. It should keep you alive for a week!

After lunch, its back in the 4WD crossing over the Blue Mountains rugged wilderness before commencing the return helicopter flight back to Sydney.

There is absolutely no better way to see this incredible part of Australia, so why not treat yourself to a day you'll never forget?
